Gas: Nigeria LNG operator to serve soon its domestic market
Tony Attah, CEO of Nigeria LNG (NLNG) - Africa’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer - has confirmed that, for the first time in its history, the company he heads will soon be selling part of its production in its domestic market, Nigeria. The announcement was made by the CEO on Tuesday, May 12, on the sidelines of a forum organised by the Nigerian Gas Association - the umbrella organisation of the Nigerian gas industry - and comes at a time when the coronavirus crisis and the consequent collapse in the price of raw materials is taking its toll. Until now, NLNG has been exporting 100% of its production, and has therefore made a commitment to serve customers who are geographically closer to it, an approach that has enabled it to reduce its logistics costs in particular.
